FIC is the not-for-profit trade association that is the voice of fitness facility operators across Canada.
Who We Are
Your Industry Association
Representing all the fitness facilities in Canada, with over 6 million members nationwide, FIC pursues a legislative agenda in the hope of bettering the fitness industry for both consumers and operators. With Provincial Coalitions across provinces, FIC aims to work with both industry and government to improve the health and physical activity levels of Canadians.
WHAT ARE WE UP TO?
FIC has been advocating for fitness businesses across the country for reopenings and ensuring the safety of Canadians. We were able to get FITNESS included in Bill C-2 for COVID-19 supports. We are currently lobbying the government to lower the threshold to 10%.
We are more than willing to work with the government to ensure fitness facilities stay open. WE ARE PART OF THE SOLUTION.

- Fitness facilities have done everything asked of us, yet still are getting shut down while other public facilities providing services remain open.
- Exercise is medicine. It’s good for our physical health and our mental health.
- Most fitness businesses don’t qualify for the subsidy and funding currently available.

REGISTER AS A MEMBER OF FIC HERE.
- Members are known as businesses that follow a standard of practice. This includes being aligned with FIC’s code of conduct; members follow provincial guidelines, local health authorities, environmental standards, diversity and inclusion, etc.
- Members have the opportunity to participate on provincial coalitions and assist in lobbying and government advocacy efforts. (Members are supported by FIC lobbyists, Grassroots Public Affairs.)
